Success in a dress ... Redvers Stokes
Redvers Stokes slips on his mum's bra, a tight pink dress, blonde wig and towering heels to become "Naughty Nora".
His mum Georgia, 43, who runs a riding centre with husband Matthew, said: "I couldn't be more proud. "His Naughty Nora routine is very convincing. I've never been concerned. Redvers just loves being the centre of attention. He has no plans to make it a career."
"I couldn’t be more proud,” a British mum says of her 12-year-old son, who is the best drag queen in town.
With his parents approval, young Redvers Stokes became Naughty Nora in a local drag queen contest, beating a range of grown-up frocked-out high-heeled contestants to the title, reports The Sun.
"I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, I think it’s really funny,” the bewigged tween (pictured) told the paper. “And my friends think it’s really cool.
"I’ve always been open to new things. I might like dressing up in women’s clothes but I still like girls. It’s just a little hobby of mine.”
There’s now hot debate raging on the paper’s website – are Redvers’ parents right to support their son’s drag act? Some are worried that the boy will be bullied at school, others say he should be happy to express himself any way he wants.
Redvers’ story comes as an increasing number of parents decide to support their child’s experiments outside gender norms. When progressive Seattle mum Cheryl Kilodavis discovered her 4-year-old son liked to wear pretty girls’ costumes, she was fine with it – and even wrote a cute book about My Princess Boy.
