The Zhengzhou-Wuhan high-speed rail began its trial runs on August 26. As an important component of the major national railway strategy in China, the operation of this new line will help accelerate social and economic development in Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Guangdong.

Starting from the Wuhan Railway Station, trains rush along at a top speed of 300 miles per hour. At that speed, it takes about an hour and a half to reach the Zhengzhou East Railway Station.

With 9 stops along the line, the railway stretches 482.7 km. According to reports, the line is expected to open in late September. With the opening of Beijing-Shijiazhuang and Shijiazhuang-Wuhan high-speed railway line at the end of the year, all of the Beijing-Shenzhen railway lines will be joined up.

The Beijing-Shenzhen railway line is a new high-speed railway network with a length of 2120 km. Currently, there are 2 express trains from Shenzhen to Zhengzhou everyday, including train No.K1040 and train No.K134. The whole journey can only take 23 hours and 23 minutes.

After the opening of the Zhengzhou-Wuhan railway line, passengers can transfer at Zhengzhou East Station to Xi’an. And transfers to Nanjing, Shanghai and Yichang are available in Wuhan.
